The game consists on six levels: a mansion, Wackytoon Studios, the downtown of Hollywood, a ship in the docks, the Collector's hideout Underground and Pops Clock's tower Toon World.

Bonkers can jump, throw bombs, and use a dash attack. While dashing, pressing the down button will make Bonkers roll like a ball. By collecting ten police badges, Bonkers can increase the maximum number of bombs he can hold by one. Collecting cakes and donuts will restore his health. Collecting a heart will increase his maximum health by one. Collecting a spicy bottle will make Bonkers turn red and go into a heated dash for about eight seconds, longer than the standard dash allows.

Each level with exception of the final level consist of two segments, with a boss at the end of the level.
